Techspan manufactures an extensive range of Thermal Transfer ribbons ( TTR ), in all grades, for all label and barcode printers, in all configurations – including: Near-Edge, Wax, Wax/Resin, Full Resin. High quality high performance thermal ribbons for barcode & label printers, thermal coders, signage, graphics and, data ribbons.

We convert all ribbons in-house using precision high speed slitting machinery. We can ‘slit’ to specific customer requirements.

TSC label printers are available as either direct thermal only or thermal transfer / direct thermal configurations. TSC printers are designed for thermal transfer printing can be run in direct thermal or thermal transfer mode. Direct thermal mode uses heat sensitive labels that darken to form barcodes, graphics and printed text as heat is applied by the printer’s print head. Direct thermal labels are suitable for short shelf life labels which are not exposed to extreme light or heat.

Meet the Techspan team


I have been with the company since 1992. I am the financial director and purchasing manager for Techspan Group and sales manager for Techspan Industrial Printing Systems Limited (TIPS).

I am married to Bernadette and we have three children: Dominica, Rebeka and Isaac.

In my spare time I can be found working outside on my lifestyle block.
On the farm, we run sheep, horses, goats and chickens and we share the farm with many domestic pets as well.

Team-member-Craig-01I have been with Techspan since 2002.

I handle technical sales covering a number of products including: thermal transfer ribbons, hot stamping foils, Pad printing consumables.

I have a beautiful young family with my partner Linda. We have three young children.

When not spending time with them, I enjoy going to see live home grown music, socializing with good mates, Grass roots rugby, weekends on the Coromandel, jamming with friends, and playing in my two piece band ‘Grub Street’

Having worked in the print finishing industry for most of my life I have seen a lot of change and progress, and although I have not moved around much I am up to speed with what the market wants and needs from their suppliers.

I have a passion for what I do, I love foil and what it can do for a product as an embellishment.


I have been with the company since December 2008.

My main role with the company is – Technical sales of our wide range of Plastics Machinery & Ultrasonic Equipment. I previously worked as Accounts assitant and customer service, among many other various roles.

I was born in Durban, South Africa in 1986.

My interests include:  Aviation, Shooting, Cars and Computer gaming.

I have beenTeam-member-Dave-01 with Techspan since 1980.

I have studied architectural draughting, electrical engineering, and business management.

I previously worked as an architectural draughtsman, insurance underwriter, and broker. Having lived in Perth, Western Australia for several years, I am now based in Auckland, New Zealand, and very happily married (37 years) to Maria. We have 2 adult children, 2 grandchildren, 2 dogs, and a small menagerie of animals on several acres.

I‘m passionate about our business, and I’m absolutely dedicated to the success of Techspan Group – to be the leading provider of our 5 core products. I‘m a firm believer in the power of positive thinking, and I’m extremely proud of our winning team, who work extremely hard to give exceptional quality service to our customers !

My interests include DIY, aviation, boating, good food, wine, and travel.


I’ve been with the company since 1990.

I am the groups Marketing Director.  I take care of the group’s marketing, graphic design, and development of the group websites.

I began with Techspan in technical service, building a good product knowledge.

Music was my first love, having worked for several years as a professional musician in the mid 80’s.  I then worked for a division of the company’s Furniture manufacturing company in the late 80’s.

Later I developed a passion for aviation, taking up parachuting/skydiving in 1995. I won a few national titles and later developed a charity event which benefits CanTeen and the Foundation for Youth Development. The event has run every year since its inception in 2007 – Jump Start – the experience of being alive.

My interests include – family life, music, skydiving, and living life to the full.


I originally started with Techspan in 1994 and left briefly in 1998 only to return later that same year.

My role with Techspan is as the company service manager.

I am 44 years old and have 4 daughters ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old.

I’m a keen motorcyclist and my current pride and joy is a Ducati 848 superbike.

My interests include family life, motorcycles and motorcycle racing, music, travelling, good food and red wine, running and general fitness, DIY

Team-member-BenBen joined the company in June 2013.

Ben is in charge of the production and operation of the company’s High Speed Conversion plant, in the manufacture of Thermal Transfer Ribbons.

Ben is located at the Industrial Printing Systems factory in Auckland, New Zealand.

Team-member-AnthonyI joined the company in June 2014.

I work in the Auckland Thermal Transfer Ribbon manufacturing plant.

My interests include computer gaming, and spending quality time with good friends and family.
